    This City & Guilds course provide delegates with the knowledge required for the periodic inspection of electrical installations; allowing them to be able to complete the Electrical Installation Condition Report and associated schedules.

    Initial Verification testing will not be covered in this qualification.

    Understanding the requirements for the following:

    • Safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations
    • Inspection, testing and recording the condition of electrical installations
    • Completing the periodic inspection of electrical installations
    • Safe testing of in service installations
    • Testing circuits and energised installations
    • Interpreting test results
    • Completing electrical installation condition reports and associated documentation

    This course is intended for practising electricians who have already completed relevant formal training and have experience in inspection and testing but who have not carried out periodic inspection and testing.
     
    These qualifications are not suitable for learners with limited experience of working in the electrotechnical sector or those who are new to the industry who do not possess sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to undertake inspection and testing safely and competently, such as those entering the industry from other engineering disciplines or who have been working in allied trades.
     
    These qualifications are intended for electricians that hold relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications, who want to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD), learn new skills, and enhance their understanding of periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations..
     
    Delegates must hold a current version of the IET Wiring Regulations to sit this course.
